Start your mornings with a breakfast boost.
Polish off your cereal spoons, Overwatch fans. Lucio-Oh’s are finally officially coming to a cereal aisle near you.
“Overwatch never tasted so good!” Blizzard tweeted today, confirming the cereal is in fact real and on the way. “Get into the daily groove and boost your breakfast with Lucio-Oh’s.”
The cereal started as an in-game Overwatch joke as a spray for the support character Lucio. It wasn’t long before Overwatch fans decided they wanted a real-life version of the cereal, and several online petitions for Blizzard to create one were started.
Just last month, it appeared likely that Blizzard would give its fans what they wanted when an online listing for a Kellog’s Lucio-Oh’s cereal. The details from that listing appear to have largely been accurate. Lucio-Oh’s will indeed have a “sonic vanilla” flavor and include an Overwatch Loot Boost.
Blizzard’s announcement tweet doesn’t contain any Kellog’s branding. However, it seems likely that Blizzard did indeed partner with the cereal giant to make Lucio-Oh’s, given that the actual box is the same as the one from the October report and all other official details appear to line up with the report.
Luci-Oh’s is Overwatch’s third major product announcement in less than a month. In October, Blizzard announced that Mei’s Snowball was getting her own levitating toy and that Bastion was the first LEGO Overwatch set.
And with BlizzCon 2018 kicking off in Anaheim, today is expected to be a big day for Blizzard announcements. The developer already revealed Ashe as Overwatch’s next character.
