GTA 5 Has Now Sold Over 95 Million Copies

100 million, here we come!

Grand Theft Auto 5 is on its way to a frankly absurd milestone as it hits over 95 million copies sold to date.

The news was announced during Take Two’s Q4 earnings call, up 10 million from November’s 85 million.

Take Two attributes much of the game’s success to the continued release of free content, with GTA Online delivering “its biggest year yet” for sales of in-game currency.

Last month it was reported that the title has seemingly GTA 5 HAS MADE MORE MONEY THAN ANY FILM, BOOK OR GAME, SAYS ANALYST” target=”_blank”>made more money than any film, book, or game, generating approximately $6 billion in revenue.

The game continues to appear on NPD’s monthly list of best-selling games in the US, and has remained in the top 10 in the UK charts for months, often found in the top five week-to-week.

GTA 5 launched in 2013 and it’s still going strong, five years later. You can keep up with all of GTA Online’s weekly updates here and should the fancy take you, you can get yourself the recently announced Premium Online Edition that includes all of the content to date as well as a Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack bonus.
